Jim and Elaine Bennett taught at a rural Ethiopian school in the Peace Corps, planting seeds of knowledge and connection that still echo today. Now, we're returning to that same school—not just to honor their legacy, but to meet a pressing need voiced by the community itself: hands-on computer training for students who’ve never had access to the digital tools the world now runs on.
Powered by family, former students, and local partners. Together, we’re transforming a room at the high school into a fully equipped computer lab.
First, we need electricity—something the school still lacks.
Phase II: Powering Possibility
We’re raising $7,000 to install the electrical infrastructure needed to support 40 computers. This is the foundation. Once complete, we’ll be able to pursue matching grants and donations for Phase 3: restoring the room, furnishing it, and training teachers
We honor the legacy of James Bennett and his family’s dedication
to global health and education by empowering students at Ras Desta School in Ethiopia and beyond through hands-on learning in science, engineering, and technology, fostering real-world skills that uplift lives, families, and communities.
